Galactic Activity 21

Speaking competitions are a great way to develop your skills in designing, polishing and presenting a speech in a competitive environment. No matter where you finish, entering a speaking competition will develop your public speaking skills and confidence faster than any other activity.

  3. Participate with the intention of giving your best performance on the day

The Why…

Activities in a Rostrum Club setting are one thing, but levelling up and entering a competition above the club level is a real stretch – and that’s why you’re in Galactic – to stretch your skills as far as you can!

Where do I start?

The How

Specific guidelines on how to tackle this activity.

  1. Deliver something at competition level that addresses comp criteria in your Rostrum zone
  2. Completing this activity could be participating in the actual competition, or delivering a practice run in a Rostrum Club meeting.
  3. Enter a competition that will present a challenge to you in terms of the size of the audience or the competition criteria.
  4. Prepare the entry according to the criteria for that competition.
  5. Do the best you can on the day – which of course will be helped by as many practice runs as you can muster before the event.
