Galactic Activity 21
Speaking competitions are a great way to develop your skills in designing, polishing and presenting a speech in a competitive environment. No matter where you finish, entering a speaking competition will develop your public speaking skills and confidence faster than any other activity.

The Why…
Activities in a Rostrum Club setting are one thing, but levelling up and entering a competition above the club level is a real stretch – and that’s why you’re in Galactic – to stretch your skills as far as you can!
Where do I start?
The How
Specific guidelines on how to tackle this activity.
- Deliver something at competition level that addresses comp criteria in your Rostrum zone
- Completing this activity could be participating in the actual competition, or delivering a practice run in a Rostrum Club meeting.
- Enter a competition that will present a challenge to you in terms of the size of the audience or the competition criteria.
- Prepare the entry according to the criteria for that competition.
- Do the best you can on the day – which of course will be helped by as many practice runs as you can muster before the event.
